Fulham are definitely the most underrated side in English Premier League this season. They had really great season, and will finish probably as 7th team – unless Tottenham wins at Anfield and they lose this match against Everton. Fulham’s record at Craven Cottage this season is decent as usually. With 11 wins this season they are one of the strongest home sides in league, while their recent form is also pretty good – 4 wins and only one defeat in last 6 rounds.
Everton also had great season, but they will probably have one eye on their FA Cup final. David Moyes wasn’t keen on resting any of his players in last few games, but without fresh injuries and with few players back, he could rest some of his usual starters in this match against Fulham. He already has important players like Jagielka, Arteta, Yakubu and Valente out for this match, so we could see weakened Everton side tomorrow.
History between these two sides in EPL is also interesting – all 15 games they played so far were won by home sides, and in this case I expect the same. Fulham have decent season behind them, they are full of confidence and at these prices they deserve to be backed. | Fulham vs Everton | English Premier League, 2009-05-24 | | Pick: Home win (-0.25) | Asian Handicap | | Stake: 7/10 | Odds: 1.89 @ Stan James |

Although with guaranteed top-six finish, Everton still have enough reasons to play for in remaining two fixtures. If they can better Aston Villa at the end of the season, they will enter Europa League in play off phase; otherwise they will enter this competition in Qualifying Round. Or they can win FA Cup and enter play off stage of Europa League. Anyway, Everton are doing well lately, and were beaten only once in last six rounds – against Manchester City. They were doing especially well defensively, while they also had few bright goals scoring moments, in games against Wigan (4-0) and Aston Villa (3-3).
West Ham are also eyeing Europe for the next season, but they seems to be out of fuel at the end of this season. They are struggling to score lately, and with only 4 goals scored in last 6 rounds they are one of the most inefficient sides in last 6 rounds.
Everton long term injuries Arteta, Yakubu, Valente, Anichebe and Jagielka are still out of squad, but manager David Moyes couldn count on Tonny Hibert, Leon Osman, Lars Jacobsen and Louis Saha, who all struggled with injuries.
Hammers’ striker Carlton Cole is back to action after groin injury, but Keiron Dyer, James Collins and Scott Parker are out again.
Everton are usually doing well against West Ham, and at 1.80 offered by Betfred and Coral, they are worth a shot. Medium bet. | Everton vs West Ham | English Premier League, 2009-05-16 | | Pick: Home win | Fixed odds | | Stake: 4/10 | Odds: 1.80 @ Betfred Coral

Hannover are one of the strongest home sides in German Bundesliga this season, and after 15 home games they suffered only one defeat – to Hoffenheim in October. They managed to make some really great results at home so far, and recorded wins against top table sides such as Bayern Munich, Hamburger and Hertha Berlin. Hannover are still not safe from relegation in theory, but practically they are in good position to finish this season clear from troubles in last few games. If they manage to win today match against Frankfurt, than they will be mathematically safe, so I guess they will go for it today.
Frankfurt on the other hand are 3 points behind Hannover and they also need points from this match. After two straight defeats in last two games they will be motivated to end their loosing run, and escape from the bottom sides. Both sides are coming to this match with big selection problems, but Frankfurt will badly miss Caio and Kohler, two of key players this season.
Both sides have been inconsistent this season, but Hannover simply were outstanding at home this season and I think they have advantage in this match. They will also look for a revenge for a humiliating 0-4 defeat at Frankfurt in reverse fixture, so I think they will be motivated enough to record a win in this match.

Valencia welcome Real Madrid tonight at Mestalla in what should be a cracking match. While Valencia are desperate to reach Champions League football, which would ease their financial troubles, Real Madrid are looking for a win which would heal their wounds after humiliation against Barcelona last weekend. Valencia come to this match on good run and after 4 wins in last 6 rounds, they are closing the gap to out of form Sevilla, who are now only 4 points above them. It is well known fact that Valencia are usually strong at home, and this season’s record at Mestalla is 10-4-3. Three defeats came against mid and low table opposition, but they played pretty well against all top table sides. Deportivo, Atletico Madrid and Sevilla were defeated there, while Barcelona were held to 2-2 draw.
In humiliating defeat to arch-rivals Barcelona last weekend, Real Madrid were only a shadow of the team they used to be during several seasons. They are lacking creativity in midfield, their defense looks like Swiss cheese, but at least offensively they looked ok in all their recent games.
Valencia are without Albelda and Fernandes and probably Edu for tonight, while Real Madrid will be missing Diarra, Guti and Sneijder.
Although I saw some stupid statements coming from Real Madrid midfielder Gago that nothing’s lost yet and that Barcelona still can lose points, the truth is that Barcelona will win La Liga this season and that everyone knows that. Except Gago. Season for Real Madrid is finished, they can’t win or lose anything anymore, so I think that motivated Valencia side should have enough to take a win in this match.

At this stage of the season there is usually plenty of value to be found, and this match between Portsmouth and Arsenal is probably perfect example – Arsenal are priced around 2.30 at most of bookmakers. VC Bet offers generous 2.06 for Arsenal (-0.25) which would be probably the highest we could get for straight Arsenal win if this match was played just two or three weeks ago. Arsenal will have one eye on Tuesday Champions League Semi-final against Manchester United, and Arsene Wenger is expected to rest some players before that crucial game. In addition, there is already couple of players sidelined by injuries, so this fact has influenced the odds in this match. But, we witnessed few times lately that biggest advantage of Arsenal is their squad depth, and with plenty of quality players Gunners were able to cope with much stronger sides than this Portsmouth team is (remember Liverpool match?).
Another reason for these strange odds is Pompey’s table position – although still not involved in real dog-fight at the bottom of the table, Portsmouth have not secured their Premiership football next season, and they need points from this match.
Whichever side Arsene Wenger fields today, Arsenal will be closer to take all the points. They are on really great form in English Premier League lately, and I’m sure they will go for win today. | Portsmouth vs Arsenal | English Premier League, 2009-05-02 | | Pick: Away win (-0.25) | Asian Handicap | | Stake: 8/10 | Odds: 2.06 @ VC Bet |

Title challengers Liverpool are facing Arsenal tonight, and that should be cracking match, as every match between 'Big Four' in England. Bookmakers almost agree that this should be 'easy' win for Liverpool, and they offer some really funny prices for a home win here - 1.72 is set by all well known bookies like Bet365, Ladbrokes, Totesport, Paddy Power, etc. But this kind of match is never going to be easy. When it comes to games like this, than recent form, team news or table positions really don't count anymore and it is only the match between two big English sides and it should be like that. We all witnessed what happened when in-form Manchester United faced Liverpool not so long ago, and it was general consensus amongst punters that Red Devils would defend the title in that match. The outcome of that match was quite different than was expected, and Reds from Liverpool were celebrating 4-1 win at Old Trafford! This time Liverpool are the team that is expected to celebrate, and again we have those funny odds - even funnier than in previously mentioned match between United and Liverpool the other day. Liverpool are in title race and they need badly points from this match. United are only one point above them, but with game in a hand that looks like much bigger advantage than at this stage of the season. So, win for Liverpool tonight is a must. On the other hand we have Arsenal who are not involved in title race this season. Again. Still, I don't think that Arsene Wenger will be the man who would help any of his rivals on their way to Premiership title. So, which ever team Arsene Wenger fields tonight, he'll make sure they will give their 110% and will fire them up for this one. And even with some selections problem for this match, Wenger still have plenty of players to choose from. Van Persie and Adebayor will be missed in attack, Clichy, Gallas and Djourou will be missing at the back, but with so much talent amongst those kids, I'm sure Wenger will find the right combination. Liverpool have 'only' Steven Gerrard out for this match, but it is well known how much Reds' skipper is important for the team. From the betting point of view, there is huge value in opposing Liverpool in this one. Fair price for a home win would be 2.15 according to Goal Rating System, so possible suggestion would be laying Liverpool at those, once again, funny odds. Another option, which looks more adventurous and more risky, but definitely 'value bet', is backing Arsenal to win this match. Arsenal on level ball @3.60 at Bet365 looks like great deal and that is official pick of this site for tonight. | Liverpool vs Arsenal | English Premier League, 2009-04-21 | | Pick: Away win (0) | Asian Handicap | | Stake: 8/10 | Odds: 3.60 @ Bet365 |
